Energy Performance Certificates

New EPC Data Extraction Service


Item 3 of the recent Housing Corporation’s guidance on Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) RSL Pilot: process for reporting progress asks that RSLs store the data used to create the EPCs'. Unfortunately the data held within these documents cannot (other than reverting to a laborious manual copy/paste operation) be readily extracted.


Our recently introduced ECPC Web-service has been designed to overcome this problem. The service extracts information from multiple EPC Certificates and generates a single spreadsheet containing all the relevant EPC data. This data can then be easily imported into your asset management system, energy stock profiling software or other database. You use the service by sending us a list - this can be a simple ASCII file or a spreadsheet - of Unique Property Reference Numbers and EPC numbers. Like so:

After processing we return an e-mail to you with a spreadsheet attachment. One row is created for each property and contains the following data in separate columns:

Date of assessment & Date of certificate

Total floor area & Dwelling Type

 

Results

Energy efficiency rating (current and potential)

Environmental impact rating (current and potential)

Energy use (current and potential)

CO2 emissions (current and potential)

Lighting costs (current and potential)

Heating costs (current and potential)

Hot water costs (current and potential)

 

Assessors Details

Assessor's accreditation number, name, company name/trading name, address, phone number, fax number & e-mail address

 

Element Analysis

Including description and current energy efficiency and environmental impact on each of the following:


Wall, Roof, Floor & Windows

Main heating system & controls, secondary heating & hot water

Lighting

 

Improvement Measures

Includes all lower and higher cost as well as additional measures showing for each measure the following data:


Description

Saving per year

Improvement in energy efficiency

Improvement in environmental impact
